Armanti Edwards Signs With Edmonton Eskimos
While much is uncertain in the sports world at this time, there are still sports-adjacent activities taking place, such as free agent signing periods and drafts. In the Canadian Football League, teams are still filling out their rosters.
Per the CFL’s Twitter account, wide receiver Armanti Edwards has signed with the Edmonton Eskimos.
After Mike Reilly signed with the B.C. Lions last offseason, the Eskimos added Trevor Harris to take over at quarterback. Trevor Harris only played in 13 games during the regular season, but still managed to finish second in passing yards last season with 4,207 passing yards.
Needless to say, Edwards will be joining a very high-powered passing game. He will join forces with Greg Ellingson and Ricky Collins in the receiving corps, and will likely try to fill the void DaVaris Daniels left after signing with Toronto this offseason.
Edwards had previously joined the Dallas Renegades of the XFL after his Argonauts contract expired, but signed with Edmonton after the XFL ceased operations today.
Armanti Edwards finished the 2019 CFL season with 1,014 receiving yards on 69 receptions and 7 touchdowns in Toronto. He is a very talented player and a great add for Edmonton.
